Jazz duo Fleur Stevenson and Maff Potts have been entertaining audiences together for over 10 years. Fleur Stevenson’s bright melodic lines coupled with Maff Potts’ bluesy piano style create a unique sound that is warm, exciting and spellbinding. This dynamic jazz duo will showcase songs from the Great American Songbook, by composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael. A treat for fans of first class, straight ahead jazz.
A familiar face on the London jazz scene, Fleur Stevenson is gifted with a honeyed tone, an offbeat sense of humour and a naturally charismatic stage presence. Fleur creates an instant rapport with her audience through sparkling narrative and an unerring instinct for choosing the right material to perfectly showcase her talent.
Her phrasing, use of space and improvisational ability nod to obvious influences from the greats such as Shirley Horn and Anita O’Day but Fleur is carving a niche all of her own with her surprising yet stylish interpretations of jazz standards and her tender, heartfelt delivery of romantic ballads. Fleur performs at many prestigious venues across the UK, including the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, 606 Club and Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho.
Maff has performed with many of the biggest stars of the UK jazz scene including Art Themen, Alan Barnes, Laurence Cottle, Nigel Price, Denny Ilett Jr, and Dave Green. Maff is known for his immensely groovy, soulful style and exciting, irrepressible, explosives solos! A hugely creative musician, Maff is a skilled composer and arranged, and has has played at many of the UK’s top venues with his band including 100 Club and headlining the Jazz Cafe, London.
