Led by the warm tones of Harvey Parkin-Christie’s tenor saxophone, Kakoiyasu delivers expansive improvisations and relaxed accompaniment from upright bass player Harry Souter. Drummer Teruki Chan adds New Orleans-tinged rhythms and slapstick percussion, blending beauty and grandeur with off-the-cuff experimentalism.
