As the room settles and the first cocktails are poured, GY Slim brings a sound shaped by deep-rooted blues tradition — raw, rhythmic, and driven by instinct. Armed with nothing more than guitar and voice, this is blues stripped back to its essentials, where rhythm carries the room and every note feels alive.
🎸 GY Slim draws his name from proud Grimsby (GY) roots and a heritage steeped in blues history, inspired by legends such as Guitar Slim. His musical lineage stretches from Jamaica to Louisiana — a journey that echoes through his percussive playing style and spontaneous delivery. Having spent years performing across the UK blues circuit with the band Deep Six Blues — appearing at respected venues such as The Bear Club and The Green Note — he now steps forward with a bold solo project built around authentic, juke-joint energy.
